What is
LA VÉLOROUTE ?
The valley of the Somme had its river and its canal; it now has its cycle route: a cycling route of 160 km from Ham to Saint-Valery-sur-Somme, mainly along the river.
This gentle route for pedestrians and cyclists has been developed by the Department with the support of European funds. It is an invitation for the Samarians (people who live in the Somme department) and the visitors to discover along the water all the tourist, natural and cultural riches of the Somme Valley.

Welcome to
EAUCOURT-SUR-SOMME!
A true witness in terms of heritage, culture and tourism in rural areas, the village was founded in the 7th century.Nestled on the edge of the Somme Valley, it makes the most of the natural elements at its disposal, namely water and wind.
Strolling through the village you will discover the charm of the banks of Somme, the "rouissoirs"(ponds) where our ancestors cultivated flax, the ruins of the feudal castle dating from the 13th century, the church of Sainte Aubin isolated in the middle of the fields and the mill that dominates the valley .
A rich heritage, sometimes mysterious, highlighted by the commune and associations
BAIE DE SOMME
about 30 minutes by car from Eaucourt
1h20 by the cycle path
Ranked among the most beautiful bays in the world, the Bay of Somme is an exceptional natural site.
Cinemascope landscapes, an impression of end of the world, cliffs, sand, dunes, pebbles, marshes succeed each other and complement each other to compose an extraordinary landscape, far from the concrete coasts.
Here the sky and the sea merge. Here, they say that the lights change at every moment. The colors also. The Bay of Somme has always been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for painters and writers: from Degas to Corot, from Jules Verne to Colette...
Thousands of migratory birds have found refuge there. The largest French colony of seals has made it their home.

Your getaway will be cultural and festive: the cathedral, a huge stone vessel, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
